Emergency plumbing repair under a sink in Honolulu, HI

When water won’t wait

First thing to do: shut off the water.

If you’ve got water where it shouldn’t be, the most useful thing you can do before we arrive is find your main shutoff and close it. That one move turns a flood into a cleanup. If you can’t find it or it won’t budge, call us and we’ll talk you through it on the phone while a plumber heads your way.

We get emergency calls for the same handful of things over and over: a supply line that let go under a sink, a water heater that started leaking onto the floor, a toilet that won’t stop running into an overflow, a pipe that burst inside a wall. None of them get better by waiting, and most get a lot worse. That’s why a few of our regular customers keep our number saved in their phone favorites.

When you call, you get a real person who can tell you whether this is a right-now problem or something that can hold until morning. We won’t talk you into an after-hours visit you don’t need, and we won’t leave you stranded if you do.

What’s included

What an emergency call covers.

  • Fast response. We prioritize active leaks and no-water situations and get a licensed plumber to you as quickly as we can.
  • Stop the damage first. Our first job is to stop the water and keep the problem from spreading while we figure out the fix.
  • Clear diagnosis on the spot. We find the real source, tell you what’s going on in plain words, and give you the price before we start.
  • Burst lines. Supply lines, drain lines, and pipes inside walls, repaired or replaced so it holds.
  • Water heater failures. Leaking tanks, flooded closets, and no-hot-water emergencies handled day or evening.
  • Overflows and backups. Toilets, drains, and backups cleared before they spread through the home.

When to call us

Call right away if you see:

  • Water actively running where it shouldn’t be
  • A pipe that has burst or split
  • A water heater leaking onto the floor
  • A sewage smell or backup coming up a drain
  • No water at all to the home
  • A leak you can hear inside a wall or ceiling

When in doubt, call. We’d rather tell you it can wait than have you sit on a problem that’s quietly doing damage.

The way we work

We show up, and we tell you straight.

An emergency is stressful enough without a plumber upselling you. We stop the water, find the cause, and give you an honest price. That’s the whole reason John started Shoreline.

Oahu specifics

Condo and high-rise emergencies are our specialty.

A lot of Oahu lives in condos and multi-unit buildings, and that changes how an emergency plays out. One unit’s leak shows up as a stain on the ceiling two floors down, and building managers want it found and stopped fast. We work in these buildings constantly, so we know how to track a leak across units and coordinate with management when we need access.

For single-family homes, older plumbing is the usual culprit. Galvanized lines that have been corroding for decades, original supply lines under sinks, and aging shutoff valves all fail eventually. When one does, the fix is rarely just patching the spot that broke. We’ll tell you honestly whether a repair holds or whether the smarter money is on replacing the failing section before it goes again.

What working with us looks like

Straightforward, start to finish.

The first thing we do on any emergency plumbing job is figure out what’s actually going on. We look at the real problem instead of guessing, and we explain what we find in plain language, no jargon, no scare tactics. You’ll know what’s wrong and what your options are before anything else happens.

Then you get a clear price. The number we quote is the number you pay, which is the whole reason John started Shoreline back in 2019 after watching another company do it the wrong way. A licensed plumber does the work, keeps you posted along the way, and cleans up the area before leaving. We finish by checking that everything runs the way it should.

None of that changes with the size of the job. A small emergency plumbing call and a big one get the same honest diagnosis, the same clear price, and the same crew that takes pride in the work and leaves your place clean. We would rather do it right and earn the next call than rush it and lose your trust, because the reviews our customers leave are the only advertising we really count on.

That approach is why so many of our customers call us back and ask for our crew by name. If you’ve got a emergency plumbing question or you’re ready to get on the schedule, reach out through our contact page or call (808) 445-3585. We answer, and we’ll give you a straight answer.

  • Rated 4.9 across 377+ jobs. Real reviews from real Honolulu homeowners, on Google, Yelp, and Angi.

It’s a simple promise: tell you the truth, charge what we said, and do the work right the first time. That’s the standard John set when he founded Shoreline, and it’s the standard every plumber on the crew works to on every job, big or small, residential or commercial. Questions, answered straight

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge extra for emergency calls?

We’ll always tell you the price before any work starts, including any after-hours difference, so there are no surprises. If it can safely wait until regular hours and save you money, we’ll tell you that too.

How fast can you get here?

We prioritize active leaks and no-water emergencies and move as fast as we can across Honolulu and Oahu. Call (808) 445-3585 and we’ll give you a real timeframe.

What should I do while I wait?

Shut off the water at the main if you can. For a specific fixture, the local shutoff under the sink or behind the toilet may stop it. If you can’t find the valve, call us and we’ll walk you through it.

Is a small leak really an emergency?

Not always, but hidden water does real damage over time, especially behind walls and between condo units. If you’re seeing damp spots or hearing water, it’s worth a call even if it isn’t dramatic.

Can you handle a sewage backup?

Yes. A backup coming up a drain is both unpleasant and a health concern, so it gets priority. We clear the line and find out why it backed up so it doesn’t happen again.

Are you licensed for this work?

Yes, we’re a licensed Hawaii plumbing contractor, license #37423. Every repair is done to code and we stand behind it.
